EUGENE DOMINGO PLAYS GUIDANCE COUNSELOR IN FIRST TIME

Eugene Domingo is one of the busiest comediennes these days. When she’s not hosting for GMA Network’s late night comedy talk show, Cool Center , then she’s probably promoting her movie, Working Girls, or her SRO Cinemaserye episode, Hot Mama.

Lucky for First Time, the former theater actress was able - and very much willing - to find time in her hectic schedule to still join the cast of the GMA’s youth-oriented series topbilled by fast-rising trio of Barbie Forteza, Joshua Dionisio and Jake Vargas.

Eugene will portray the role of Barbarella Buncalan Jackson, the school’s guidance counselor who will play a crucial role in the way Cyndi (Barbie), Lukas (Joshua), Baste (Jake), and the rest of the St. Claire students handle their qualms and queries as teenagers.

“Iba naman yung role ko dito”, says Eugene . “Isa akong guidance counselor. Pero syempre comedy pa rin. Kasi di ba kahit in real life, yung mga guidance counselor, aside from having to exude an authoritative image, more importantly dapat approachable and sympathetic sa mga estudyante because their job is to give the students advice and point them to the right direction.”

Eugene, who was last seen in a teleserye via the romantic-comedy Adik Sa ‘Yo as the mysterious Fatima , has this to say about working with the newest and youngest protégés of the Kapuso Network: “Masaya at excited ako na makasama sa First Time. Madalas kong marinig na mahuhusay yung tatlong bata [Barbie, Joshua, Jake, etc] at ngayon napatunayan ko na talaga. Masisipag sila, magagalang… Nararamdaman ko na gusto talaga nilang matuto at maging magagaling na artista.”

Eugene Domingo will surely add fun to the already very exciting series as she plays the funny Barbarelle Buncalan Jackson in GMA Network’s toprating primetime program, FIRST TIME, weeknights on GMA Telebabad. (30)
